Fresh off the release of last fall’s beautiful "Homes" LP, Shida Shahabi has cut new wonderful compositions for a 5-track album out as a co-release between UK label FatCat’s 130701 imprint and Swedish label Sing a song fighter, "Shifts" merges Shahabi’s mood-altering JG Malmsjö upright piano with the windswept cello parts of Linnea Olsson and approaches the piano from unforeseen angles and this feels like a fresh start. From the opening track and the time-stopping single ”Futō” to the closing track ”Keiki” this album sees Shida Shahabi rise to new heights. .
